WE REPAIR DOCUMENTARY

Our friends at the European initiative WE REPAIR have asked us to accompany them on their projects with cameras on a regular basis.

We took part in many events across three countries where volunteers repaired items that would otherwise have ended up in the trash: small household appliances, clothing and textiles, bicycles, toys, and even simple pieces of furniture.

Sometimes it’s the simplest tricks that bring a device you thought was beyond repair back to life. And every time it works, everyone there shares in the joy. That’s why the atmosphere is so great at these community events, often called Repair Cafés.

We met some amazing people, visited beautiful rural areas of Europe, and learned a lot about repairs.

Our documentary shares experiences and practical tips on organizing Repair Cafés—and, of course, what else goes on when Europeans gather in the countryside to spend a week repairing things big and small together.

Community repair initiatives in rural areas have many strengths and can make a big difference.

Thank you for your trust, everyone at Buinho, FabLab Cuenca, Mountain Makers, and Vulca.
